Standards Against Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation

Laiškelis has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) — including sexualized content involving minors, grooming, trafficking, or any attempt to use the app to contact, solicit, or exploit a minor. This applies to every part of the app: letters, map letters, drawings, connection requests, and private chat.

1. Adults only, by design

Laiškelis is not directed at children and does not knowingly permit minors to hold accounts. Every account requires an explicit 18+ age confirmation at signup, and the app collects no data that would make it attractive or usable as a service for minors (no phone numbers, no real names, no social handles). An account discovered to belong to a minor is deleted.

2. Built-in prevention

• Automated content gate at send time. Every letter, map letter, and nickname is scored against a moderation keyword list before it is ever stored or shown to anyone; content that crosses the threshold is rejected outright and never reaches another user.
• No off-platform redirection. Letters, map letters, and chat messages are blocked from containing links or bare domains. Moving a conversation off-platform is one of the most common tactics used to circumvent safety controls, so it is refused at the point of sending, not only reviewed after the fact.
• No open discovery of minors. There are no public profiles, no search by name, and no way to browse users — only anonymous, nickname-based content and connection requests that the recipient must accept.

3. Reporting and human review

Every letter, map letter, conversation, and individual message has an in-app report control. Filing a report immediately flips that content's status so it stops being distributed or shown to anyone else, before any human reviews it. Reports are checked by a human reviewer, and we commit to acting on reports within 24 hours.

Any user can also block another user at any time; blocking prevents all future connection requests and messages between the two accounts in both directions.

4. What happens when CSAE is found

Content identified as CSAE, or an account used to attempt grooming, solicitation, or exploitation of a minor, is removed immediately and the responsible account is permanently banned — there is no warning step for this category, unlike ordinary content moderation. Relevant records are preserved as needed to support a law enforcement investigation, and we cooperate with lawful requests from law enforcement.

Apparent CSAE is reported to the NCMEC CyberTipline and, where applicable, to Lithuanian law enforcement.

5. How to report CSAE

If you encounter content or behavior in Laiškelis that you believe involves child sexual abuse or exploitation:

• Use the report control on the letter, map letter, conversation, or message directly in the app — this is the fastest path, since it removes the content from view immediately.
• Or email aleksandrasabrutis18@gmail.com with as much detail as you can provide (what you saw, when, and any relevant nickname or content). We will not ask you to describe the content in more detail than necessary.
• Imminent danger to a child should always be reported directly to local police in addition to reporting it here.
