Before you write, have a look below.

1. I forgot my password

On the sign-in screen tap "Forgot your password?" and enter your email address. We'll send you a link to set a new one. If you don't see the email, check your spam folder.

2. I'm not getting the confirmation email

We send a confirmation link when you sign up. If it hasn't arrived within a few minutes, check your spam folder and that the address was typed correctly. Temporary ("disposable") email addresses don't work — a real address is needed so the account can be recovered.

3. It says my address is already in use, but I don't have an account

One mailbox, one account. A "+" suffix or dots in a Gmail address don't make a new address, so name+something@gmail.com and name@gmail.com are the same address to us. If you've forgotten the account, reset the password (see section 1).

4. I want to report inappropriate content

Every letter, conversation and individual message can be reported inside the app — look for the flag or the "…" button on the letter. Reported content stops being shown to others immediately, before any review. I review reports daily and act within 24 hours: offending content is removed and the account that posted it is banned.

You can also report inappropriate content by email to aleksandrasabrutis18@gmail.com — the same address is in the app itself, under Settings → Report inappropriate content or behaviour.

If someone is a threat to your safety, call the emergency number 112 as well. In urgent cases write to me directly.

5. I want to block someone

Open the conversation and choose block, or tap "…""Block author" on any letter that person wrote. Once blocked, no letters, messages or requests to talk pass between the two of you in either direction. Blocked people are listed under Settings → Blocked users.

6. I don't want to see a particular letter

Tap "…" on the letter → "Hide from my feed". It disappears from your Obituary list or your map straight away and won't come back. The author is never told, and the letter stays up for everyone else — if the content is genuinely inappropriate, report it instead (see section 4).

To delete a letter you wrote: "My letters" → the bin icon; for a map letter, open it first.

7. Where did my letter go?

Pool letters live for 7 days, map letters for 30. Once that time is up they stop travelling. An expired letter may end up in the public Obituary section, but only after a moderator review — expiring alone isn't enough, so not every letter gets there.

8. I want to delete my account

You can do it in the app: Settings → Delete account. More detail on the account deletion page.

9. I can't find an answer

Write to aleksandrasabrutis18@gmail.com. If you're reporting a bug, it helps a lot to know: your phone model, whether it's Android or iPhone, and what you were doing when it happened.
